the only way to increase your chances of having twins would be to take fertility drugs. Unless you have identical twins you have to release two separate eggs to get twins. Identical twins is a totally random occurrence, and NOTHING can be done to increase your chances of identical twins. Identical twins themselves have no higher chance of having multiples.

I agree that while taking fertility drugs you're increasing your chances of twins, but you're also increasing your chances of triplets and quads or more. Please keep in mind that having multiples is considered high risk. Many twins are born early, as are most triplets and nearly ALL quads!

As the mother of twins, I can honestly say that carrying them to term was one of the hardest things I've ever done! The last month I didn't want to move! It was hard and uncomfortable. It was not fun. My biggest accomplishment most days, was to walk to the bathroom, take a shower, and change into clean pajamas. Now that they're here they're wonderful, but it was hard work to get them here healthy!

Be careful what you wish for. I would personally rather be pregnant four separate times, and have four healthy babies. Than want twins, that I couldn't carry to term. Weigh your risks of preterm labor with your OB, and voice your concerns with him/her before jumping into a fertility drug regime.

There have been many who have been given fertility drugs by their doctor, and not only given birth to twins, but also triplets, quads, and more, talk to your doctor and see if they advise it.

Are the placenta, umbilical twine, and amniotic sac distinct at the same time as coping with distinct births? same twins many times share a similar placenta, in many situations have separate amniotic sacs, and continually have their own umbilical cords. Non same twins have separate placentas, amniotic sacs, and umbilical cords.
