i know why. its not so much of who wrote it or whether people are able to relate to the song. beyonce is generally a huge star and anything that she sings will most probably be famous anyway. the song irreplaceable is no different. its not a great song at all, the lyrics are generic. its really really just the infectious beat and repetitive "to the left, to the left" phrase that sticks in peoples minds. it is really cos it is so repetitive and predictable that it is famous. people cant forget the song.

It's catchy and it makes you feel good about yourself. It's just a fun song in general and it's probably easy for most people to relate to. Add to that the fact that Beyonce is a great singer and has a fantastic voice for listening to, and it's only natural that it would become famous.

It's fantastic, it is singable, she performs it well. you can really dance to it, many women can relate, and the chorus sells it
To the left, to the left everything you own in the box to the left.

Neyo wrote that song for her, so maybe it has something to also do with that fact.
