In my village we raise sheep, cows and goats. I myself used to milk cows until I was 13. We trade our milk for cotton with the village nearby. We don't have cars yet, but the village sheikh is going to buy one soon. I am so thrilled I can't wait to ride the car. It basically feels as if you're inside a huge cow.

I have never been outside my village my whole life. My grandfather once went to the city like 45 years ago. He didn't like it and my parents who are both village people (not the band), have never been there. Our village is very poor but the people are very nice.

I'm from Beirut.

Thank You.

When i was young, and i used to stay in lebanon, i used to stay in Saida most of the time. It's known as the second largest capital in Lebanon, but i must say, there is only one word to describe it: very boring. Actually sorry, that's two words.
There's absolutely nothing to do there, the only reason I would stay there was because both my grandparents lived there. The roads are always empty and there is no night life. The only place we could go to was an ice-cream café called Festival.
There are no real cinema theatres, no real malls or shopping centers (except for one Spinney's) and all my time spent in Saida was, well, just wasted.
During the day, we would go to Beirut, but even back then, before the highways were constructed, it would take 1h or 1h30 to get there.

Currently, I live in Dearborn Heights, Michigan.

I am from a small village near nabatiyeh in south lebanon. I lived there for one year after i graduated high school and I ABSOLUTELY hated it. Then, we moved to Beirut for another year and that was one of the best experiences ive ever had.

A good friend suggested I share my village experience with ya'll circa 1978. Please enjoy the abridged edition as follows.

Originally the "village" we lived in was being overrun by deviants ie. serial killers, child molesters and the like so we made the move down to dixie, traveling as innocents abroad in our own country the good ole USA.

We relocated to a colony made up of northeasterners in a rural florida county infested with mosquitos and rednecks. The locals kindly referred to it as a yankee occupied territory At the time we had to drive an hour to purchase food but it was worth it since we had the "priviledge" of experiencing the local southern redneck culture from a (dammed) yankee perspective......... the rest is history.

More historical accounts given upon reader's request.

You could probably think of my country as a village... I have lived in at least half of it... I think it is one of the better places to live. Then again I am proably only saying that because I have never left.

I don't live in a village. I live in Jonesboro, Arkansas. It could be better although I'm not too afraid to go out at night, so that's a plus...lol.

I'm from the village next to smutty, we grow cotton and trade it for milk so we can make cheese and trade it with the next village for beans.
