America certainly is the greatest nation on Earth. It can invade whoever it likes and nobody can do anything to stop them. What a great and just country it is. The people are the very epitome of level-headedness and humility. I love America.

You are kidding, aren't you? If not, do some research and get your facts right.
We are resented and disliked around the world because of our war making and emperialist ways.
Is it great that our children have no health care unless their parents are lucky enough to have an employer who condescends to provide health insurance? Is it great that millions of Americans have no health care? Is it great that the income gap between rich and poor is so huge? Is it great that the middle class American is shrinking, and becoming poor? Is it great that the average American has to get heavily in debt to get a university education for their kids. Is it great that American school kids lag behind the rest of the Western World in academic achievement?
How wonderful America is for the sick and elderly people who can't afford the high price of medication. How wonderful that Americans voted for a government that lies to the people so that it can invade a foreign country.
Freedom of speech is indeed wonderful, though not as wonderful as a government that feels free to eavesdrop on the phone conversations that Americans make.
America is indeed great-- for the rich.
I've just read Sarang's comments. Sadly, he is right.

I'm all for defending "irak" if I knew what country it was. As for the English, I note that they are putting their rear ends on the line to help the US in Iraq and Afghanistan, rather than the other was around.....

I can understand why other countries don't like our bullying ways....but can't they learn to overlook it by remembering our generosity in foreign aid? And I wish they would realize not all Americans support the actions(invading other nations) of our government. Have mercy on us people!

I would say the lunacy and arrogant statement you made says why. The US is never ranked that high in many areas. Literacy, life expectancy, education, health care. The Scandinavian countries have you beat hands down.

YOU ARE NOT HATED FOR BEING AMERICAN TO BEGIN WITH MS CHOSEN.
IT IS YOUR GOVERNMENTS POLICIES AROUND THE WORLD THAT BRING OUT THE HATRED TOWARDS YOUR NATION. IT IS WHAT YOU REPRESENT THAT IS DISLIKED, THE DOUBLE STANDARDS IN APPLYING JUSTICE THAT IS QUESTIONED, IT IS THE PREFERENTIAL TREATMENT THAT SOME ARE BESTOWED WITH IN STARK CONTRAST TO OTHERS THAT IS LOATHED, IT IS THE BIG BROTHER 'I AM RIGHT' ATTITUDE THAT YOU TRY & FORCE DOWN THE WEAKER OPPONENTS THROAT THAT IS TAKEN AS AN INSULT.
HONESTLY, IT IS THE FOREING POLICY AND THE APPLICATION OF THOSE POLICIESTHAT SHAPES THE PERCEPTION OF THE AMERICAN PSYQUE, FROM THE OUTSIDE.
HERE IN THE MIDDLE EAST, THE AMERICANS ARE SEEN AS VERMIN IN STREETS OF CERTAIN NATIONS, WHILE OTHERS WELCOME YOU WITH OPEN ARMS.......... YOU AS INDIVIDUALS ARE HUMANS, BUT WHAT YOU ARE REPRESENTING IS WHAT IS HARD TO SWALLOW.

Did you mean - USA? It's not great, it's rich. That is the difference.
It does not have great art, literature, culture.. But has plenty of money.
Poor people usually dislike rich people. Poor countries usually dislike rich countries. Because it is these poor who pay for the "defense", and for other things the rich people/countries spend.

Because we are (as countries go) the new kids on the block, and we are the most powerful nation on the earth. We are hated because we gained the power that we have so soon.
