I tried this...it didn't work for me and have you read up on the side effects? Just read this for a min...
regnancy and Breastfeeding
Safety during pregnancy and breastfeeding has not been established. Black cohosh may relax the muscular wall of the uterus, and some nurse-midwives in the United States use black cohosh to stimulate labor. There is one report of severe multi-organ damage in a child delivered with the aid of both black cohosh and blue cohosh ( Caulophyllum thalictroides ), who was not breathing at the time of birth. The child survived with permanent brain damage. However, blue cohosh is known to have effects on the heart and blood vessels and may have been responsible for these effects.
*I think to start labor the 3 best things are have SEX...lots of it!!! It really does work! Go to the park and Swing. And ask your doc to strip your membranes.
I wish you all the luck in the world!!!!!!!!!

Don't use black cohosh, it's really not recommended for starting labour. Especially as one of its possible side effects is raising your blood pressure. Its main use is for treating menopause.
If you are getting deperate, don't blame you, I was overdue with my first one, try drinking several cups of raspberry leaf tea a day. The one you get at Holland and Barrett doesn't taste too bad. This is well know for stimulating the uterine muscles.
Other alternative methods are using essential oils such as rosemary, clary sage and peppermint. Use them neat on a tissue to sniff or burn, or use in a carrier oil to massage ankles etc.
Good luck.

I dont no much about 'black cohosh', but my mentor during my midwifery training told me that sex help to induce labour when you are at 40+ weeks.
But hope something happens soon!!

I really don't know about that but have you tried - raspberry leaf tea, fresh pineapple (not tinned), curry, sex, walking, going up and down stairs, sitting on a birth ball and bouncing, stimulating your nipples. Good luck x
