Crime rate where I live is pretty low and I am cautious, so I feel safe in that area. People here are pretty accepting of other races, kind of a live and let live mentality, so that is good. Can't control the weather, again, I don't live in an area prone to tornados or hurricanes, or below sea level, so relatively safe. Politics in our country? I feel safer that we have not had another terrorist attack here, but I believe that it is only a matter of time. But showing the world and those who want us all dead that we are so divided does NOT make me feel safe. Too many of these politicians are only playing politics and worrying about the next election and I am afraid that we will all end up paying the price for it. I really hope I am wrong.

Does Arizona's crime rate have a lot to do with illegals commiting these crimes? something to ponder! Our politics aren't unstable in this country, weather is not man made and wars are inevitable as long as there are people on earth. In general, I would say I do feel safe!

I feel safe. I've been in other parts of the world and felt safe there, even with terrorist attacks, kidnappings, etc. (I was in two attacks personally). I lived out in tornado alley and hid in my bathtub to save myself a few times....
What can you do....HIDE? No! The best thing to do is put your chin up and enjoy life! If you don't make yourself a target, you have way less chance of being harmed! I make it a point to KNOW my surroundings. Plus, I moved away from tornado alley. If you make yourself scared, you an easy target!

Police can't be everywhere all the time. The best solution is to carry a gun when you need to walk late at night or in dangerous areas.

Since I saw how "well" the catastrophe of Katrina was handled by the folks who are supposed to know what to do in a time of crisis.....no, I don't feel too safe!! I don't dwell on it, though.
