Limewire isn't legal, but I use it and have had no trouble with it. It's legal to download music only if you pay for it...like ITunes or something.

The correct answer is... Limewire is 100% legal.
Downloading music is legal if the music is not copyrighted or if the owner of the copyright wishes for it to be downloaded.
The number of songs that fall into the category of "legally downloadable" is very, very small...
But Limewire can be used for more than songs. Video clips, pictures, and other files can be found on it as well... therefore, Limewire is legal, but you can use it to break the law by downloading copyrighted movies or music.
I use it to download music all the time. I really don't care about copyright crap, prices are too high, that's what they deserve..

Limewire is a peer to peer and is perfectly legal, but to download music from the free limewire from other Peers is illegal. It is theft because you are taking music and programs that other people bough the license to and using it as you had.

THEY LET IT EXIST, BUT BEWARE! I DONT KNOW HOW LIMEWIRE BECAME SO POPULAR. KAZAA WAS MUCH BETTER, WHICH HAS NOW BECOME "KCEASY" CK. Here is what i say if it was so not legal then why is it you can download the program? I think that it is not illegal as long as you don't use the music for something else like burning cd's but think of the millions of people that use it.

Limewire its self is not illegal but downloading some content is because of copy right.Most comercial music UNLESS otherwise stated IS illegal to download.

yes part of it is legal...and chocked full of spam.
There is a free version that is not as extensive as the version you have to pay to get.
