100m in 10 sec = 10m/sec.
10m x 3600sec= 36000m/hour
36000m/hour / 1000= 36km/hour

Don't use formulas if you don't have to—you won't remember them years later, and will have to go searching for them. It's easy! Don't be a slave to measurements.
♪♫ ♪♫ Let the measurements work for you! ♪♫ ♪♫
Since you want km on top and hour on the bottom in your answer, set up your equation that way...everything else will cancel out. If you notice that something is not on top or on bottom like it should be, simply pull a flipperooski.
First state your problem, 100 m over 10 sec. Next...you know meters is related to kilometers, so put km on top and m on bottom. You know that seconds are related to minutes and minutes to hours, so put seconds on top, minutes on bottom, minutes on top, and hours on the bottom because your answer requires hours to be in the denominator. (You could skip the minutes step and put in 3600 sec per hour, but you should show all your work.) Please ignore dot leaders...they're for spacing in a challenged word processor.
Problem:
Convert 100 m per 10 sec (per means divided by, not multiplied by) to km per hour.
Solution:
100 m ... ... 1 km ... ... 60 sec... ..60 min ... ... ... 36 km
--- --- --- .X. --- --- --- .X. --- --- --- X --- --- --- ..=.. --- --- --- = 36 km/hour
10 sec... .. 1000 m ... . 1 min... .. 1 hour ... ... ... 1 hour
Notice how m cancels m, sec cancels sec, min cancels min, and you are left with km in numerator and hour in denominator. I would have drawn a slash through each measurement that cancelled, but that isn't supported in this word processor.

Multiplying metres and seconds gives metre-seconds, not metres/second. Metres/second can be converted to kilometres/hour, and metre-seconds to kilometre-hours, but the conversion factors are different.
100m x 10sec = 0.1km x 10/3600 hr = 1/3600 km-hr.
100m / 10sec = (1/10)km/(1/360)hr = 36 km/hr.

100m in 10 sec is speed of 10m / sec
1 hour = 3600 sec
1sec<-----------> 10m
3600sec<------>3600 x 10 / 1000 km = 36 km
Speed = 36 km / hour
