Good question, The house though, obviously less noise and distractions from other tenents. However, In a house there are usually more doors and windows to worry about breakins. I like my apartment top floor.

HOUSES we sold our house after 9 years and moved into a smaller, less expensive apartment and the noisy neighbors at all hours of the day and night are driving us crazy. Our house was on a major truck route that was set up for trucks to by-pass the center of town and it was still quieter than this apartment building.

Houses, less things on your mind, plus your making an investment of your own so the money you put in is yours and not your landlords...that should help you sleep at night

I would have to say houses because you get more privacy and you're not living in such close quarters like an apartment building.

I live in an apartment and have lived in them for several years. I miss living in a house. My neighbors' cars wake me. My neighbor's TV wakes me. My neighbor's door closing wakes me. My neighbor's dog wakes me.
