a) (3x-1)/7=2
3x - 1 = 2(7)
3x - 1 = 14
3x = 14 + 1
3x = 15
x = 15/3
x = 5
b) 4/7(6x+5)=0
6x + 5 = 0
6x+5= 0
6x = -5
x = -5/6
c) (16-5x)/8 - (4(2x+5))/5=-2
(the LCM of 8 n 5 is 40, multiply with whole eq.)
40(16-5x)/8 - 40(4(2x+5))/5= 40(-2)
5(16-5x) - 8(4(2x+5)) = -80
80-25x-8(8x+20)=-80
80-25x-64x+160=-80
-25x-64x= -80-80-160
-89x = -320
x = -320/-89
d) (x+3)/2 + (x+2)/3=4/3
(the LCM of 2,3,3 is 6, multiply this with whole eq.)
6(x+3)/2 + 6(x+2)/3 = 6(4/3)
3(x+3) + 2(x+2) = 2(4)
3x+9 + 2x + 4 = 8
3x+ 2x = 8-4-9
5x = -5
x = -5/5
x = -1

a)
(3x-1)/7=2
3x-1=14
3x=15
x=5
b)
4/7 (6x+5)=0
6x+5=0
6x= -5
x= -5/6
c)
(16-5x)/8 - (4(2x+5))/5= -2
(16-5x)/8 -( 8x+20)/5= -2
[5(16-5x) - 8(8x+20)]/40 = -2
80 - 25x - 64x - 160 = -80
-89x - 80 = -80
-89x = 0
x=0
d)
(x+3)/2 + (x+2)/3 = 4/3
[3(x+3) + 2(x+2)]/6 = 4/3
(3x+9+2x+4)/6 = 4/3
(5x+13)/6 = 4/3
5x+13 = (6)4/3
5x+13 = 24/3
5x+13 = 8
5x= -5
x= -1

a) first times both sides by 7
3x-1=14
3x=15
x-5
b)For the next one
6x+5=0 so x=-5/6
c and d)
You have to make sure they have a common denominator
eg for d) 3(x+3)/6+2(x+2)/6=4/3

a)
(3x-1)/7 = 2 (x7)
3x - 1 = 14 (+1)
3x = 15 (/3)
x = 5
But I think you should work out the last 3, they're not that difficult and you should apply what you've been learning in lessons to your homework. Or you're never going to get anywhere in exams.
