Not all of course but a very good number of them. I was watching the show cops and they are brutal with these suspects wrestling them down to the ground. It is not that the suspects are disobeying orders but they get caught by surprise and next thing they see is these cops running at them taking them down. I also know some cops in real life and they have personality flaws, I'm begging to notice a pattern they think they are better then every1 else. I think the power they possess during on duty hours messes with their brain and eventually F**** them up in the head,

They are given power...power goes straight to people's egos! They are pretty darn arrogant! Their job deserves to be respected, but when they've got the ego and power trip to go along with it, it makes it harder to respect them.

You're right; not all cops are jerks. Some are brave public servants. But yes, many of them are @$$holes. I think it's one of two things: For some, it's a job that give them power, which is something may be lacking in their personal lives. Some punk is mad because he didn't make the football team and some guys beat him up and stole his lunch money, so now he's going to grow up and be a cop...so he can have JUSTICE! Yeah, whatever... For others, they start out normal but the gun and the badge go to their heads and soon they are power-tripping dickheads. Sad, but it happens.

The cops in my town aren't too bad in this regard. However, they are f_ckin' useless. For example, one time there was this group of idiots in the alley behind my house selling drugs out of the trunk of their car, drinking, throwing bottles, screaming at the top of their lungs, and blasting the radio at 3am on a Tuesday. Since I have a slight problem with being kept up all night when I have work the next day, as well as the fact that I don't like people selling drugs behind my place of residence or having a carpet of broken glass where I have to park, I called the cops....three times...over the course of two hours. They never showed up. Nice, eh? Good to see my tax dollars hard at work! Idiots were probably napping at the donut shop!

P.S. I've noticed the problem usually seems to be with cops. When I've had to deal with park rangers, sheriffs, bailiffs, etc...they usually seem to be very polite and professional. I dunno; maybe it's just a coincidence....

Dearest Sir,
I beg to differ, if I may. I am not an asshole. Also, I did not go to "How to Be a Dick School". I am actually unaware of their location. What you were watching was a brief overview of what happens on a day to day basis. You do not see everyday that these officers do. Did you know the criminal history of these individuals? What if these officers have dealt with these people before? Would you give a person who has ran before the chance to run again? Maybe you would. Of course, you would do this as to not appear an asshole. Which we all know that you are not. I mean by posting this great question, and all. Personality flaws? I do believe that everyone has a personality flaw in someone else's opinion. In my personal opinion you are not that bright. However, several other people have answered and have seemed to agree with you. Therefor, they in turn are not that bright. This does not mean I think that I am better than everyone. Just you, and the ones that have agreed with you. I believe that others will come and be equal with me.

How can you say you watch "Cops" and think they are brutal...... Have you noticed the morons and idiots who break the law, try to run away, disobey the officers order to stop, try to outrun them in a car, shoot at them, draw knives and fight?

What I see is a bunch of lowlifes who think they are tough guys until the officers have him on the ground, cuffed...then they are squealing like a girl and crying for their mama.

I used to think that way when I was young (because I did stupid but, not serious infractions in front of police to piss them off, Drinking a Beer, smoking a Joint, kid crap). A few times I did something stupid and was pulled over by the police, they let me go, it made me realize that they are like any other group of people, some are cool, some are a-sholes, last time I was let go by a cop, (slightly getting on my Hot Rod at a green light) he was my age, he was like "What are ya doin man, you know better", he let me slide, I drove away feeling like such a D-CK !
