Having been through a rough few years i was pondering the question who cheats the most between males and females.
I think its probaly a 50/50 split but from my experience men generally admit there mistakes while women deny that it ever happened.

According to Eye Weekly Magazine (23 October 2003 edition)

These figures show that nearly everyone fantasises about
cheating and almost half the men and just over a third of
the women admit to actualy having had an affair.
(I guess the men must hook up with more than one
woman?)
But those figures are only those who have OWNED UP to
extramarital cheating - the real number would be much
higher and maybe it is 50/50 like you figured.
There are even matchmaking sites for people wanting
an affair, for example the one mentioned in Eye Weekly
( http://www.married-woman-personals.com )
has now had over 2 MILLION visitors - which sure is a lot of
married men and women getting a little extra on the side.
It takes two to tango, so I don't think you can say one sex
is worse than the other when it comes to cheating, so yeah
I'm thinking it's about 50/50 and going by that New York Times
Poll you are probably right about men being a little more
honest about admitting it.

I think that men used to cheat more..but nowdays with the women being more than half of the workforce..I think it has changed. Now women are less likely to put up with men's crap and move on. Like I can get a guy and can dispose of him in a day..because relationships to me aren't worth all of the dissapointment. I can pay my own bill's, have my own fun without a man, now I like looking at men..but a night is enough for me..WHO needs the headache's.I have enough of those without men. At the end of the day I go home and do what I want..don't have to worry about his supper, supplying him with sex...what peace...I don't hate men, but after I divorced it was a "Blessing" so could I cheat on a man..probably very easily..because I have been lied to, too many times. After awhile you just give up and join the "cheating/lying club."

To some men, honesty is important. To some women, admission means failure in a relationship, admit of guilt. There isn't any logistics available on who cheats the most but my guess is most probably men. No malice intended - just guessing! Women generally takes relationship seriously.

I don't really know, but most of the stories that I hear, the men have cheated. I was cheated on by my ex.
Women probably tend to talk about being cheated on more, then perhaps that is why we have the perception that more men cheat than women...

it probably is 50/50 but statistics show that men and women cheat in different ways and I think men often get careless where as women are more aware

i think its 50/50.
I think that men cheat because they dont have the control around pretty women enough to just say no, im involved with someone. I think alot of guys just cant say no to their hormones....
When women cheat, i think it is because they arent satisfied...like if the man is always ignoring her, not taking care of her, if something in the relationship is missing, i think that is when women cheat.

I think you will be surprised at how many women actually do cheat.
Id say its equal to, if not more than men.

You're right, the sexes are about even. After all, if a guy cheats, he's gotta have a cheating woman underneath him - or on top, or...

Its the women for sure. Of course they will never admit it. They are pretty sneaky about these things and take these kinds of secret to the grave.
I'm telling you women are really rotten to the core by nature. Read enough posts here and you'll see what I mean.
