proof that they WEREN'T born gay?

I hate to have to waste time to explain something so simple, but I have actually asked completely different questions that have to do with the same topic to a degree. Honestly, people are very unintelligent.

The short answer, is that there is NO PROOF for either side.

Sometimes, you can only prove one side or the other. So, to prove "this is true", you may have to prove that the opposite in NOT true. But this is not always the case.

Sometimes, proving that the opposite is NOT true, does not necessarily prove that something else it true.

(Now, that I have everyone confused !)

Personally, in the case of being born gay, or not, I don't think there is ANY PROOF one way or another. People are adamant about what they think, but can't point to any scientific proof.

I posted a question a while back, asking that people show me medical or scientific proof one way or another. I never got any links to THE PROOF.

The closest that I got, was an indication that the APA (American Psychological Association) and the AMA (American Medical Association) do not classify being gay as a disease.

So, my conclusion is that there is NO PROOF, one way or another, as to if a person is born gay or not. And, that in itself does not bother me at all. What does bother me are all the people who INSIST you are making a choice, AND all the people who INSIST you are born this way.

If people said "I think I was born this way", or "I feel", or "I believe", then it would go down easily. But to make blanket statements like "No one would chose to be gay", doesn't prove anything. Do you think people are born to murder children - or do they chose to do it ? Do you think people are born to have sex with children, or do they chose to do it ? Personally, until they prove these things, I have to accept it as an unknown.

I am willing to be proved wrong, and if anyone can show me proof, either for or against, I am willing to listen. The only requirement is that the proof has to be from a legitimate scientific or medical group, and has to be a consensus. I don't consider proof coming from a single person, and not a majority of his colleages. I also don't consider proof to come from a website run by non-medical or non-scientific organizations.

Actually, the only difference it makes to me, is that when I am in a discussion, I want to discuss the issue with facts. I don't care if you had a choice to be gay, or if you were born that way - but I don't want people lying about it in an effort to prove some point.

Well, I think it's safe to say that most people AREN'T born gay, seeing as most of the population is straight.

We are in the minority and because they haven't lived it themselves, some straight people need a little help when trying to understand our side of things. I think the best solution is to share your story from your P.O.V., if they're really looking for a discussion and not just an opportunity to "put you in your place," they'll consider your side.

Because even if you could give them physical, undeniable proof that you were born gay, they would still reject it.

They don't actually want to be convinced, they only want to keep on living in their close-minded world worshipping a fictional book about a metaphorical man.

Most people believe it's impossible to be born anything that's a personal choice. People say babies are innocent, not born sinners. Most people know that being gay is a choice, yet some people expect us to believe they were born gay!, noone's buying it!
