I did not finish high school, I did not get my GED. My state, North Carolina offered an Adult High School Diploma, which is very similar to a GED. I didn't drop out because I was a poor student; I had exceptional grades in high school. I applied to several state universities and got accepeted into all of them. I went to the University of North Florida, later transferred to Florida Atlantic University where I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. After that, I did my masters in nonprofit management. I applied to law school at Nova and got accepted there as well. I am due to start there in the Fall. You do not have to have a high school diploma to be successful... you have to have ambition. Most high school drop outs do not want to go to college... that being why most of them never "get into a good college." I may not have gone to ivy league schools but i'm doing better than most of my friends that ended up finishing high school. Where there is a will there is a way, always believe in that and you will do fine. If you take the hard road, you'll have to do a lot of work yourself. I got plenty of financial aid, even later some scholarships and came out with very few loans. It can be done, research and try hard and you will succeed.

Also, if you have any questions or need any resources, feel free to contact me. Hope it works out for you!

Yes, it is the equivalent of a high school diploma. Many people can't finish high school for various reasons, and probably work harder to get their GED than a diploma. It is more difficult to get, because you are cramming close to 4 years into a short period of time. There are many scholarships available for colleges that are directed solely toward people who have received their GEDs. You can be anything you want to be. You will be very successful with hard wok and determination.

It's equivalent as far as the diploma goes...yes. However, it is not considered worthy of being accepted into a ivy league college, as far as I know.
