a = 3,b = - 8 and c = - 5
x = [8 ±√(64 + 60)] / 6
X = [8±√124] / 6
X = 4/3 ± 2√31 / 6
X = 4/3 ± (1/3).√31
X = (1/3). (4 ±√31) is exact answer
X = 1.3 ± 1.9 is approximate answer
X = 3.2 , - 0.6

3x^2 -8x - 5 = 0
3x^2 -5x -3x -5 = 0
3x( x+1) - 5( x+1) = 0
(3x - 5)(x+1) = 0
3x - 5 = 0 x= 5/3
x+1 = 0 x= -1
