It definately has to be Fight Club.
Who would have thought Tyler Durden was actually the narrator's imagination.
Plus great effects with the towers falling down to a great rock song.
Thats my happily ever after ending :)

I love it when all the characters are left happy and everything is great, but I think the endings which you remember are the ones that leave you wanting more. So with a cliffhanger.
My favourites are:
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest- I won't spoil the ending for anyone that hasn't seen it, but seriously I couldn't stop gaping at the screen when the closing credits came up on the cinema screen.
Final Destination 3: Did they die? Did they live? I guess we'll never know.
I also like endings with a twist, but it has to be a clever twist that fits perfectly, but that you never saw coming e.g. in Flight Plan. The REAL kidnapper.
Other great endings:
Lord of the Rings 3: He left them :-( Made me cry
The Da Vinci Code: So dramatic!!! I know Dan Brown gave them that ending but the film makes it....I dunno...more...emotional??? I thought anyway.
Happy Feet: Loved their little dance!

A brilliant ending is the one in Fight Club, excellent song with it as well! I think an ending that leaves you with a few questions is good but if you have too many then its really irritating! A twist near the ending of a film is fun as long as it gets resolved before the actual ending scene! And a happily-ever-after ending is nice if you're not in a great mood! :) The ending of Before Sunset is nice actually, or Amelie.

Psycho. I lucked out and became it on late one night perfect after the hollow credit had run. i did not be attentive to the call of the action picture, and that i wasn't the right age to have heard of Norman Bates. So, I have been given to verify it because it replaced into meant to be seen, with out expectancies. The twist interior the middle the place Marion gets killed and the only on the top the two blew me away. It replaced into the 1st action picture I undergo in suggestions seeing the place i replaced into that a great deal surprised by potential of the ending. Plus, that ending scene the place 'norman' is conversing to the digicam is excellent creepy. BQ--in all probability celebrity Wars IV. I watched it alot whilst i replaced into youthful, and now i'm having to rewatch it with my son. BBQ--Human Centipede. i'm comfortable with gore, yet this in simple terms sounds unspeakably gross.

I like films with an unexpected twist at the end and agree that The Sixth Sense was great for that. My favourite film with an amazing twist is No Way Out with Kevin Costner and Gene Hackman - if you haven't seen it rent it, it's brilliant.

I thought the ending to The Sixth Sense was very good and very unexpected.
My favorite movie ending though is probably from "Somewhere in Time" Its a chick flick and the very end is similar but not exactly the same as the ending to Titanic. Its a wonderful thought.
Somewhere in Time is an old movie from the early 80's starring Christopher Reeves and Jane Seymore....I recommend it...Its a great story...kind of science fiction...kind of period piece....definite love story.

It has to be Shawshank Redemption. It has a mind blowing twist plus its a triumph of good over evil - you cannot watch this film without feeling a huge sense of satisfaction by the end credits. I also like Fargo.

Sixth Sense caught me off guard but I will nominate Dr Strangelove.
The B52 Pilot Major T.J. 'King' Kong (Slim Pickens) is still holding on to the nuclear bomb when it is unjammed from the aircraft and he is parachuted to the Soviet target cheering in Texas cowboy style.
It is a shame than Bush did not realise that this was a black comedy, not a training film.

The Sixth Sense - I walked out of the theater dumbfounded. I had never left a theater before where no one was talking about the movie, this one was that way, the place was packed and as we left not one person was talking! I can't watch that movie anymore now that I know the ending, but I loved it!

I think the best ending to a film is when you're not left wondering about what happened to a main character. The worst ending for me, was probably white noise. I thought that was a rubbish ending because the main character died and you didn't even see what happened.
