OK change of diet for a start give it fresh thawed pinkie rats and get a rep ti sun 5.0 fluro light over the basking area turtles need vitamin d3 to absorb calcium and try your turtle on Natrfin max pellets with feeder fish once a week that will sort out it's soft shell problem quickly if you do not fix it fast the turtle will die

The most common cause of a soft shell is insufficient Calcium and/or insufficient Vitamin D3.

Vitamin D3 is mostly generated by the body in a complex process that requires using sunlight. An artificial UVB source is much weaker, but can be an adequate substitute. Dietary D3 can be found in animal products. Or in vitamin supplements.

Most turtles love to chew on cuttle fish bone. This pretty much guarantees that they get enough calcium.

If your turtle has a soft shell and is otherwise healthy, you must
provide him with enough calcium and a way to synthesize Vitamin D3.
(Refer to the care sheet on feeding turtles for more information.)

To give extra calcium, buy "cuttle fish bone" at the pet store.
The turtles like to chew on it, and that will take care of the calcium.

For vitamin D3, you can either let your turtle bask in unfiltered sunlight every day for at least an hour, or you can install a fluorescent UVB bulb on the basking area, or you can supplement vitamin D3.

Why not just give it time and wait to see what turns out? I mean, if it's a baby, chances are good that its shell will grow as hard as rock. By the way, some species of turtle have a soft shell and they have no problem with that.

the turtle shells safeguard turtles from extinction. they're there because god loves the turtles and choose them in his international. what people do isn't something god needs to have administration over because then what often is the point of bringing souls into this international?

Its totally cool...my mom told me this story about why turtles have hard shells in the the first place.

They used to always be soft, and then this one turtle was talking to his bird friends and they said they were going to a party with the cloud king.....he wanted to go so they each gave him a feather and he flew up there. ON the way they said he needed to make up a fun play name....so he decided his name would be "everyone".

Well they finally made it to the cloud kings palace and he said the food was for everyone. So the birds went for the food and the turtle was like...WTF.....(yeah i'm editing the story from how my mom told me a bit)...... he said the king said it was for "everyone" and thats his name. Then he ate allt eh food, so the birds stole his feathers and he fell to the ground. On the way down he found one of his really really close bird friends and told him to tell his wife to put out all their soft furniture. Well the bird told turtle's wife to put out everything hard she could find.

He broke his shell and then his wife had to super glue it back on.....and thats why turtles have hard shells with all thsoe grooves. Most turtles are this guys decendants, but your turtle could've came from one of the other turtle families.
