HEY EVERYONE!!
I wanted to know... does anyone know about any fiction writing competitions and also does anyone have any ideas on what to write about my mind has gone blank and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks heaps. Ummm.... yeah... thats all I wanted to say... lol.

Well, Brittany, you can write about a teenage girl who wishes to become a succesful and well known writer. The girl is in search of that one story that can catapult her into the arena of big time authors. But she is frustrated with herself because her mind has gone blank and she is unable to zero upon that one story. So she decides that she will start to weave stories around her neighbours and friends. Her characters start to become typical and shrewd by each passing page. Her stories invariably start to become bleak and her characters dark. She starts to write a story where she herself was the target of a fatal conspiracy; in which even her parents are involved. She becomes a paranoid and starts to suffer from depression at the age of 22. She starts to think that whatever she wrote has really happened in true life with her and starts to avenge her characters' wrong doings in real life and becomes a ....You can end it as per your own choice, Brittany!?
(this is a work of impromptu fiction and any resemblance to anyone living or dead is purely coincidental).
You may add smaller sub stories to it to make it a bit more interesting. The story is genuine and you may use it whatsoever way you want to. You can even write it when you get a bit older, if it is a bit strong for you, Brittany!? I am already 16 years old.

I have provided two links. The first is a submissions calendar for various contests, provided by Poets and Writers Magazine. You can expect the toughest competition, but the contests are legit. The second site has contests for young adults, and are also legit.

Check out the magazine Writer's Digest - it lists contests (also online at www.writersdigest.com).
The magazine Poets and Writers also lists contest (www.pw.org).
Contests are out there in all genres!
Good luck and keep sending your stuff out there!!!! Just keep at it.
