There is so much I wanted to explain on this subject, and the argument will go forward for at least this entire new century.
Nobody knows the truth ot the matter, but we can speculate.
Some will throw us curve balls, some will get on Yahoo Answers and call people "stupid" for having their own beliefs, and differing with theirs.
And still more will point fingers at the "government", overlooking that it's supposed to be a government for and by the people, but the "people" have grown to the size of ants and have little say or voice in governmental affairs that one day come back to haunt them.
And if you just focus on the money angle, my God, what you will find!

There are literally thousands of "scenarios" that we could have pursued with regards to the attacks !! But, none of those were the planned objective here !! We are in a place right today that was conceived and planned very thoroughly from quite some time back !! We have an enormous presence in the Middle East--- the military suppliers are doing a brisk little business--- and the ongoing "security scare" has the people in power in the catbird seat to do anything at all in any way that they see fit -- and have the automatic built-in stance that to cross them on anything at all is to be UnAmerican in this Time of War !!!!!!
War has a tendency to SECURE the control of power for incumbants !!! This rule of thumb is not an unknown entity within the strategy book of the career big government elistists !!!
That is why those who have so little to offer in the way of securing their power in any other way tend to go to war quite easily !!!
And, I hate to be a proponent of "staying out of the fray" by lending my support to isolationizm either--- because some things Demand a strong and definate response---- going after the core responsible parties of these attacks is one thing ---but to widen this thing into an ----all opposing views, everywhere---kind of thing is simply ludicrous !!!

My naive son. Our government was complicit in the 9/11 attacks.
It's very hard to know how involved they were, but Cheney knew what was going to happen, at the least.
The obvious motive is that it would give his gov't clear reign in budget and setting any kind of extreme agenda, such as attacking Iraq.
So in sum, you are asking the wrong question. You should be asking, "Why are we not impeaching Bush and Cheney?"
Just check out www.911truth.org and go from there.

Well they still haven't caught Osama but people can kid themselves that Saddam is just as good but the government allowed Bin Laden to get away with cold blooded murder so much for justice for the victims.

That's all well and good. But the ones who commited the killings would go free and would be free to commit other attacks. What purpose would that serve?
The best way to kill a snake is to behead it. The US has done the right thing.
