It sounds to me as though it could be gas bubble disease

"'Gas-bubble' disease (which is uncommon) presents the opposite problem to hypoxia. It is caused by over-saturation of the water with air. During summer it is tempting to try and force as much oxygen as possible into the water but it is important to realise that at any given temperature there is a maximum amount of oxygen the water can naturally hold If this level is exceeded for example by forcing air into the water under pressure the water can become supersaturated with oxygen.

Given my earlier comments about the dangers of hypoxia, this may seem a desirable state of affairs but it isn't. If excess air is forced into water it will gradually come out of solution as the natural equilibrium is restored. This excess air may come out of solution in the fish's bloodstream.

Typical signs of which are visible air bubbles in the eyes, gills and sometimes in the skin. This problem can be detected by measuring total dissolved gases (DO, nitrogen, argon, dissolved carbon dioxide etc.) though the equipment required is expensive."

I'm not sure but something is wrong with him. Sounds internal. Go to www.goldfishconnection.com and order Metro-Meds and Medi-Gold. They are medicated fish food. Feed the Metro-meds first, it gets rid of parasites then the medi-gold for bacterial infection. These products work the best I have ever seen. There is a lot of useful info on the site as well. Also www.fishdoc.com is a good site for koi info in particular.

That sounds to me like dropsy but it definitely needs a vet. You need to do this as soon as possible as it will deteriorate rapidly. The fish is actually dying but a vet will be able to help. With fish the size of koi it always worth seeking help. Hope everything goes okay.

How about bill Duck, fantastically if he's a touch backward...nah, it truly is stoopid. i understand a good call 'Donald Duck' - hm, no perhaps no longer, i imagine some-one else used that call. fortunate-ducky, Wanderer, Pinto ('cos ducks have pin-feet), My effective Feathered buddy, Your Duckiness.... (a marvelous little verse...have you ever seen printing a cutting-part Nursery Rhyme e book?) do not favor to play any more suitable.

swimbladder or an internal bacterial infection

most pet shops will be able to help you find out the true cause and assit you in finding the right treatment and they don`t charge to do it like the vets.
