see, practice is the only way.there is no other way out.whenever u do a calculation just try to solve it mentally,it may be difficult n will take time.lets do an experiment...suppose u solve the question u wrote,do it mentally and record the time, then u calculate another problem like this n that 2 mentally n this time again u record the time.u will find ur time period is reduced.do 5 more questions like this n record the time.u will find that the time u took doing the 5th one is much less than u took in first one...this will improve confidence in u..n whenever u do some calculation do it mentally...i m sure u will be benefited by this for God's sake don't use calculator it will slow ur mind calculating speed like hell..n don't expect result overnight..do practice ur problem will be solved definitely...

for that specific calculation and ones like it, all you have to do is fine 21% of 57 (57 x .21) and then add whatever that is to the original 57.

Well, maybe you can do exercises that are one or two grades lower than you. You might be laugh by other kids but that is the way to improve. I used to suck at maths too but after practising with those books lower than my actual standard and going up and it is on par with my grades.

I can do that pretty easily in my head. Always bear in mind that 10% is one tenth. So, one tenth of 57 is 5.7. 20% is 11.4. Another one percent would be 0.57. So, the answer would be 11.4+0.57+57= 68.97

If you cannot do it in your head, do it on a piece of paper first. Then, slowly try to do it on the paper without much working. Next you will be only jotting down the answers on the paper. Keep it up and you will suceed.

I hope this help.:)

57 times 1.21, 1.21 is 121 percent / the one is 100 percent (57) and the .21 is the 21 percent thats it is increasing by // remember this: portion over base time ratio portion is the part that gets bigger or smaller, base is the begining number and ratio is the percent / draw a peanut butter pie (P=portion over B=base times R=ratio)
