I don't support the death penalty because I can't really be pro death penalty and not be pro abortion, as much as I really want to. A life's a life, right?

Just because someone is driving under the influence doesn't mean that they killed anyone. Yes, they have the potential to end a life as a result of teir decisions, but people who commit attempted murder do not get as harsh a punishment as they would had they succeded, even though some may think they should.

So, no, I don't think you should execute someone for driving under the influence. That's just my two cents.

No. But as far as child molesters/rapists go - yeah, I'm for that .

Imagine if someone in your family made a stupid mistake and got a DUI - should we kill them?

It is different if they end up killing someone else, but what if you and your best friend are wasted (drunk). Neither of you is thinking too straight, but since she is less drunk than you, she drives. An accident happens and you die. Now should she get the death penalty for that DUI ....

The death penalty system is already extremely flawed and fallible. Why make it worse?

Instead of focusing on what we do after a drunk driver has killed someone while DUI, we should lock up people for the first drunk driving offense. And mandate follow up probation.

Um, no. Its a little harsh, don't you think.

To be honest, we can't even properly impose the death penalty on murderers, what makes you think the legal system could do it to people convicted of DUI.

I would rather there be a nationwide prohibition. I'm sorry, but if you put liquor factories in a country of millions of people with cars, you will have drunk drivers. We are too stupid as people to not drink and drive. So you have to take an element out of the "Drinking and Driving" equation. Either the drink or the drive has to go. We can't function without our cars, but we sure can without alcohol can't we? Think about it. If we made that smart choice, it'd save lives from day one.
