Do any parents have suggestions for diapering my 3 month old baby girl? Occasionally, her poop will go up her back out of the diaper, and all over her clothes. It's like her hiney is upside down!!! I've tried folding down the edge of the diaper, and adjusting the tabs' tightness, both to no avail.

My daughter is exclusively breastfed, and my diet has not changed. It's not the quantity of poop- even small amounts have made their way up the back, and her position seems to have no effect. The diapers she wears are Pampers Swaddlers, size 1-2. She's barely 3 months old, and they are not too small.

She may need larger diapers.

I had this same problem with my 2 month old and a friend suggested using diapers one size larger, even though my son had not yet outgrown his size 1 diapers. I tried it and it has been a huge help! Also, I was using the Swaddler diapers and, even though I liked them because they were soooo soft, the Huggies Supreme diapers tend to leak less. Good luck!

Make sure they are not too small. We made sure the diapers were large enough to cover a good portion of their back. Even if you think they are not too small, you may want to get a small pack of the next size up and just see if they help. We used the Swaddlers as well and didn't have many problems.

Hmm,I have read you question several times here and wondering if it's not your diapering technique but something she is eating. The occasional poo that runs up the back and all over is normal,if it's that frequent it may be something you are eating (if breastfed) or the formula. As far as a good diaper goes,I really like Luv's and I have "trialed and errored" many brands.Make sure the diaper isn't to big;not to tight. good luck =)

My day care provider gave me this tip and it really works. Angle the fasteners down so they are in the shape of a V. It really helps with little boys leaking out the front of the diapers as well. Holds everything where it is supposed to be, IN the diaper and not leaking OUT.

Hi! My son was the same!!! My husband and I gave up trying different things. Nothing worked! We did use a nappy cover thing (sorry I don't know the correct name) and his cot had a plastic cover with his old nappy clothes on top of it, which didn't help the leaks but helped with the cleaning!....And he only used the best diapers....Huggies!

attempt diverse manufacturers...i imagine length 3 is a few distance too massive for him. My son is 34 months previous and weighs like 29 kilos and continues to be in length 4s even as he wears a diaper. With all 3 of my babies I had to apply Huggies. Pampers and Luvs did no longer have elastic on the again of the waist and led to significant poop failures. I once had to regulate his outfits and wipe him down with 8 babywipes to get him clean even as he had a poop blow-out in a eating position.

You might switch to cloth diapers, they can can be folded to a larger size for more coverage and a better fit.
Probably because you daughter is breast fed,her digestive tract isn't passing more solid pooh so it will be more runny like with diarrhea.
Other than that, there isn't much you can do.

Try using diapers with wide edges ....Sometimes its good to use a piece of cloth to line up the diaper!

Try a different brand of diaper. We used Huggies with Gigglastic on all three of ours. Worst case some babies just do that. My mom tells EVERYONE that I did.

If you use cheap diapers you will have this issue constantly.
I prefer and recommend huggies for diapers they hold and retain better.
If this incidents happens at night use a product called
"Diaper Doubler" and use it in conjunction with your diaper this product is available at Babies R Us
