The best way to clean babies ear is by using mineral oil by using mineral oil it will help you keep his/her ears clean and cleaning can be cut down to at least twice a week or maybe just once a week. Also by applying mineral oil it will also help his/her ears repel dirt. they will be a lot healthier. Also there some Q-tip specially designed for babies and toddlers they are called Safety swabs made by Johnson & Johnson

Check this website:
www.johnsonsbaby.johnsonsbaby
.com/products/cotton/safety-swabs

If you use adult swabs on your little one... you can do some sirious damages to his/her ear drum.
This safety swabs can only clean the outter part of his/her ear and not worrying how deep you are going.
There are a few store that sell them Babies R us and Walgreens just name a few.
best of luck

Do not place ANYTHING inside a baby's ear. Just gently wipe the inside of the earlobe to dry bathwater (use the towel), but do NOT enter the earcanal.
Every week or so I used a Q tip dipped in baby oil to just gently clean off wax that had come out of the ear from the inner earlobe, but never go into the canal.

With a damp, warm washcloth, on the outside. Do not put Q-tips in their ears. That can cause harm. To get to just the inside, area, again, use the warm damp washcloth, with your pinkie finger being the smallest thing that goes there. Take care.

our doctor told us not to clean the ear unless it was visibly dirty. the wax in an infants ear is necessary to prevent infections.
