I've got a gorgeous pair of purple skinny jeans, but the only colors I can think of that go with it are black and white. What else could I wear with it??

Yellow. It is actually a contrasting color to purple. If you're brave enough to wear attention getting purple pants then you can pull this off.
Just make sure the tone is the same. Example: dark purple with mustard yellow, bright red purple with a bright yellow shirt.
If you aren't brave or the creative type, stick with the black.

Think of the colour wheel - pale yellow, mint green, different shades of pink and red, light-mid shades of blue. Stay away from black (it will dull it) or white (make it darker/brighter). It's good to see a man wear something else than black, browns and neutrals. I hope it is a mid-dark purple pair of jeans. Good luck! (pick me?!)

Cool, purple jeans! Black and purple really look great together, but really I think you could almost wear any color with them, especially on the darker side.

You could wear any color shirt as long as it has the color purple on it...
probably a long sleeved shirt...for example a dark blue shirt with a purple heart in the middle of it...or a bright yellow baby tee with a purple logo on it...
something along those lines and you should be fine. hell, be creative.

It sounds like 80's pants and I picture those big shirts with those belt buckle things gathered to the side on the shirt. I know, I know I'm thinking of leggings or something. But that is what I was imagining.

no straight man would say "gorgeous"! wear them with either black or white. otherwise, take them with you when shopping. just be careful, or you might enter that horrible "80's" style.
