I know this has nothing to do with cell phones but I didn't know where else to post this.

I was watching Pulp Fiction earlier (which is my favorite movie btw) and I noticed that when Uma Thurman and John Travolta are in the restaurant, instead of smoking a regular pre-rolled cigarette from the box she had, she asked Travolta if she could have his hand-rolled one. Why is that? Why would she want his instead. Are they better than cigarettes with filters or what?

Rolling tobacco has much less (or no) impurities and additives put in it. You'll notice that rolled cigarettes don't tend to burn as evenly and the taste is very different - without the chemical aftertaste. Also, rolling tobacco doesn't stay fresh forever - which is natural - but manufactured cigarettes have preservatives to give them long shelf lives.

My father smoked a pipe, and I have about half a dozen friends and family who smoke roll-your-own cigarettes. I used to do some work in product development and marketing of cigarettes, and smoked then. When I then tried my friends' rolled cigarettes, they were significantly smoother and less chemical to smoke.

Although I've given up, and aren't a fan of smoking any more, if you want to smoke I'd certainly recommend rolled cigarettes (or "rollies", as they're known in Australia) over manufactured, and overpriced cigarettes.

You can get filters for rollies, and there are a number of different varieties - I personally believe that the best rolling tobacco I tried was Drum 'Milde Shag'. There's another brand, which I think is called 'American Indian', or similar, which makes a point of not using chemical additives in any of their tobacco - and I thought that their manufactured cigarettes were almost as good as rolling your own.

It's quite simple, the pre-rolled cigs have more chemicals and they burn out really quick and are expensive, then you have the hand-rolled smokes that are smoother, cheaper to buy and last longer. You can also buy filters for the hand-rolled smokes also.

most hand rolled ones dont have a filter. so if youre a smoker and you crave a really strong deep smoke i guess thats why shed chose the handrolled.
