never heard of this expression. but i assume it means keep your enemy closer so you can watch his/her move and protect yourself. this sounds very conspiracy. how old are you? do you need this for work, if so you may read the Art of War, many big entrupreneurs read this book.

You always want to keep your friends close, they are your friends, but keeping your enemies closer, you know at all times what they are doing, so you always know how to deal with them, and there are no suprises.

I agree with the others. Keep your friends close cuz you like em. Keep your enemies close so you know what their up to. I've actually found it easier to tolerate an enemy in order to avoid the fallout created by ignoring them. I prefer to avoid them tho and keep em guessing as to what I'm up to.

" Keep your enemies close" means that, the better you know them, then better you can tell what or how they might do things. Now this can mean to you, or someone else. But when it's about you, then, you won't be tricked into something that was meant to harmful you in someway.

keep your frieds close cuz you enjoy being around them, keep your enemies closer so you can keep an eye on them, (and implieing that the best way to do that is to be "friends" with them)

it means to keep your friends around but your enemys closer because thats the only way you can bring them down. for example when your enemys think your their friend they ask you for advice right? well you give them bad advice and your bringing them down without them even knowing it. like if you ask me what shirt to wear and i pick the ugly one and you wear it and look ugly.

It doesn't make any sense to try it. I've tried, and it does not work.
