What can we do to better empower our young women to make decisions about their bodies?

so many young women and girls are still gullible to men. there are still women who sleep with men without condoms because the man doesnt want to use one, girls being beaten and abused my their boyfriends and girls who are prey to men who lure them into taking part in pornographic films.the nr of teen pregnancies is skyrocketing despite knowledge of HIV and STD's etc.

I think alot of the problem stems from fear of rejection and isolation, although some people are still genuinely ignorant about how widespread some infections are and how easy many are to catch.
My sister works as a research specialist in this field a central London hospital, and deals with it everyday.
Girls who have children at a very young age often believe they have few other options open to them. So I think giving them opportunities to train in fields that are appropriate for is them is always really important, to help build their self-esteem and independence.

I think it is a lot to do with low self esteem and how the media at times describes things as some forms of pornography as normal and acceptable
It is parents and schools roles to educate these girls into realising that they should only do things that they are comfortable doing

The government must take more responsibility and to be fair the adverts on tv and radio about condoms are very prevalent at the moment.
