Wow I didn't know Jamaica had a look! so interesting, What you need to do is ask them what makes a person look Jamaican? And i can already assure you that they will say something like "all Jamaicans have dreadlocks, they sit on the beach everyday, living in huts, smoking weed and saying NO PROBLEM MON!" that's the biggest misconception people have about my country. So let them know our motto OUT OF MANY, ONE PEOPLE. it emphasizes that we are a country made up of diverse cultures, we don't have one single look, we have variety.

I used to have long dreadlocks and persons(extra often than not men) would question me if i replaced into from here, they assumed i replaced into from Africa OR Jamaica. i think of it incredibly is extra often than not dreads, and perhaps once you're brown, with unique african beneficial components? because of the fact, i do no longer think of basically having dreadlocks would make somebody prefer to assert one among those difficulty. Now that i've got chopped my locks, I nonetheless have human beings question my nationality, and ethnicity yet it fairly is many times been a similar. the only time i replaced into asked if i replaced into jamaican replaced into when I wore locks.

Jamaica is a country that has many races living there, just like Canada. Much of the population is descendants of former slaves and are black, however, there are European influences there as well. Jamaica was controlled by a number of those peoples and their descendants also live there. To say "you don't look Jamaican" is like saying you don't look Canadian. What does a Canadian look like? Like Canada, Jamaica is a diverse culture.

Well you were born in canada. There is no specific way to look like a jamaica. So what those ppl said if fuckery, doesn't make any sense. They say you look like a Trinidadian, Trinidad is in the Caribbean as well. You should have asked them why they said that, how should a Trini look.Nothing is wrong.

That's a weird comment from those girls. Jamaicans have no specific look and they definitely vary from blacks, indians, white etc. Out of Many One People

ha people dont think im jamaican either cause i don't have dark skin but my mother was born in kingston. you can't look jamaican because the island is so diverse! hence our motto "out of many one people" jamaican people are from so many different countries, my mom is part Scottish/Irish and black! so dont worry about those people hon, they are ridiculous and dont know what they are talking about. ;-)

A Trini is someone from Trinidad and Tobago (another Carabbian Island.) And I've never seen you before so I can't say.
