It probably depends on the state where you live. Most states I know of require that you're 16, but in Iowa, some of my cousins started working at age 14 (small, part time jobs like lifeguarding at the pool).

Sure. Don't plan on a job that would ordinarily go to an
adult or someone with credentials you don't have...but
there are numerous part-time jobs out there that should
be available...permanent or temporary. They won't be
available through employment agencies. It will require
your going to individual employers who advertise for, or
whom you know need, part-time help - after school help
etc.

Your school should have nothing to do with your outside
activities unless it conflicts with school hours then...yes
they would become involved and would have to approve
any absences.

I am basing this only on the laws of my own state. If they
are different in another state...I'm glad I live where I do.

Good luck

PS Remember that, because of your age, you will not
be protected necessarily by some of the laws regarding
the rights of employees. The employer may or may not
be able to deduct taxes/fica etc and may or may not
have to pay an employers share. But, heck, I respect
you for wanting to get a job. It will be of great benefit
when you do graduate and eventually enter the real
job market. I wish there were more young people with
your desire.

It is correct about each state. Your primary care doctor or local labor office can tell you. Doc's do the initial physical for work permits. Or work for a relative part time but don't do anything that could cause yo trouble in the future. See a local Air Force recruiter for carer guidance. Most are honest, all that I have worked with were very upfront, and will show you how to stay qualified for some very technical and challenging careers. Does not mean you need to go into the armed force. But staying qualified for any branch of the armed forces surely will make you eligible for a world of other career choices.
