Nightmares are the mind's way of 'bleeding', the same way your skin bleeds after something affects it. The amount of 'blood' that comes out depends on 1) what you do to control the bleeding 2) how soon you do it, and 3) how well it takes care of the wound. The nightmares keep happening because you are still mentally 'bleeding' from the attack.

There are many things you 'could' do, and you will probably need to do them sooner or later (like filing a police report, going to the doctor, etc etc), but the fact that you are reaching out is good.

What happened to you is that you were raped; which means that you didn't deserve anything that happened to you (no matter what anyone else has said). Criminals (which is what your rapist is) don't just do things to bad people, they do them to good people too. Anyone can be helpless, anyone can be a victim.

It also means that you can and will get past this, in your own time. But right now, you are still raw. You need people around you who you know love and care for you. One way to 'help' with the nightmares is to do something about them, do something about that helpless feeling you get when you wake up.

What you can do is 're-imagine' the dream. When you wake up, don't just accept it, sit there and imagine the way you want it to turn out. Imagine whatever it takes to make the dream different. Imagine pulling out a gun and shooting the guy 500 times. Imagine knocking him out of the car and running over him back and forth until he's just a pile a mulch. Imagine picking up a phone and beating him to death with it. Or simply imagine pushing him away and running to tell the police. The important thing is that you know that you can 'change' what is happening right now.

If you know which taxi company and you know the driver than by all means call the police, fear of what happened is normal, you must learn to protect yourself by many means and finally if it's your word against his and you let him get away because your too weak to confront your fear than buy a good lock and lock yourself in your room cause you won't heal if you do nothing, as far as catching up with the guy, if you didn't report it to the police....ahhh just round up some guy friends and take care of the dirt bag.

Please seek professional counsling. Call the police and report the taxi driver. You keep dreaming about what the driver looks like so you can give an accurate discription. No stranger on this website can give you any better advice than what a professional can. PLEASE SEEK HELP. Good luck

Over time that nightmare will eventually go away. Through out the day you really do not need to think about a lot. Go see someone that you allways feel safe around and tell him or her about what happened. OR YOU CAN JUST GO ROUND UP SOME GUYS AND FIND THAT DUSCH BAG AND KICK HIS ***!!!!
