The only bright spot of hope that the Reds have of winning the NL Central is that the NL Central is very winnable.

The Cards, who despite winning the '06 World Series, wasn't a particularly good team last year and actually got worse during the offseason.

Astros, without Andy Pettitte and no Roger during the first half (at the least), won't be as competitive. Their starting staff is Oswalt and a bunch of mediocre pitchers. Carlos Lee can only contribute so much to a weak offense.

Cubs went from lousy to overrated. Soriano's going to be the new Sosa over there and Lee back healthy will be big but none of that will matter when their already mediocre pitching staff goes south once Wood and Prior find themselves back on the DL.

Keep an eye out for the Brewers. They've slowly brought up good young talent over the last few years and this may be the year that talent breaks out. The glaring weakness may be the manager.

It could come down to the Reds and Brewers this year, making for a very interesting season. Good luck to you!

I am a baseball fan first and foremost. I'm not going to give an sugar coating with this like those Yankees/ Red Sox fans. Both are great teams mind you...The NL Central will be a three way. This does include the Reds. While Spring Training is just that "training" the Reds look good. Hamilton especially. He looks like he could clinch an outfield spot. The Cardinals will continue their winning ways from last year. The Cubs, while having a tough couple spring games will be tough during the season. They (Chicago) have allot of bats in the lineup and pitching, if their healthy.

The Reds have a decent team but not a world class team. You forget that they have gotten rid of their best hitters. Their pitching is decent but we still do not have a proven closer. Harang is a good pitcher and Yes, Arroyo is a real gem. the Reds solidified their infield but they sacrificed their hitting. Griffey can still play but will his health again keep him off the playing field. Dunn can smack a ball but will he strike out over 100 times this year. I like Ross allot and we will see him develop more this year. The jury is still out on the relief thought I do like Bray. I would love to see them be successful this year.

as sturdy a raffle as any. The Cubs nonetheless could desire to be the favorites going into the season however the the remainder of the branch is a crap shoot. If the Reds can end 2d with a minimum of ninety wins, they have a real shot on the playoffs. i think of they have the pitching to do it.

I believe they have a chance as long as their starting pitching performs like it did for most of the time last year, and that your bull pen doesn't blow as many games as it did last year with your new signings....

and if Dunn bats 3 or 4th, you'll definitely get more rbis from him....and if Griffey manages to stay healthy for most of the season...

I guess it really matters on a lot of things....but the Reds definitely have a chance to take the division, with no real dominate team....

Ummmm, I think its pretty hard to say the Cincinnati is going to win the division. With Cardinals their who have better offense, with more runs, hits and RBI's then Cincy last year (and with Cincy being in the bottom of most of those categories), and with their pitching and bullpen about the same, I would say Cincy's chances are slim, but it is a bad division.

I don't know they have to watch out for St. Louis, they are gonna be coming off a high. But I think that provided the Cardinals don't stop them they have a good chance of winning the central division. As for goin furthur than that you never know.

Reds should be in the race, but they are in the toughest division in baseball with the Cardinals, Cubs & Astros.
Actually I see Houston and St. Louis battling at the end.

I don't think so. The Chicago Cubs will be a contender in the NL Central.
