I am confused because some sites say Peter Van Pels and others say Van Daan. If Van Daan is correct why do they say Van Pels? Is it the same thing?
p.s. Is the mother and father of Peter's names: Auguste and Herman?

their real last name is Van Pels but in the book anne refers to them as the Van Daan family. And auguste and herman are the parents' real names.

acknowledge this is not correct answer, but if i recall Peter, Van Daan was her love interest, (as much as an 13 year old girl could have a selection at that time) contact your local synagogue and ask the Rabbi or call a Yshevica or the New Jersey Bergen county Library site:www.bccls.org, even contact the catholic archdiocese of your area. I hope you will find your answerer.
