They always get sore about an after I leave the salon, and they stay sore for a day or two. I don't understand how the process of getting my nails done/filled creates this soreness. I can hardly type right now :(

answer is simple. The reason your nails is hurting is because they grinds your nails too deep and they had put too much primer on it. The primer usually makes your finger nails burn after. And if you have sensitive nails... after you get them done..soak your nails in COLD water for about 15 minutes to calm it down. It should be O.K after that. Primer is not a bad thing to use though. It kills bacteria surrounding your cuticles and your nail's bed. Also be choosy about the salon you are going to...never go to a cheap one because they use cheap products on your nails which can leads to damaging your nails in the long run. It will make your nails thin, brittle, and sensitive. That could be the problem that you have..

I use to believe this was normal until I changed salons. I started going to an upscale nail place and they stopped hurting. My nails ALWAYS hurt after I had them done. Just like you they would hurt for a day or two. I asked the owner about it and she said the reason they hurt is because the technician wasn't applying them correctly and could have been using bad products. If they are appied correctly and not too tight they will NOT hurt. One may think that if not applied tightly they would quickly fall off. Not true, since having them done at this new place, they actaully stay on longer and and take longer to grow out. I would recommend you go to someone else. It isn't worth the pain and I don't think it is healthy for them to hurt like that. Ouch....I remember that pain! :-( GOOD LUCK!!!!

you might want to look into finding a new nail technician. your fingers should not be that sore after having your nails done. your tech might be filing too much, which can cause permanent damage to your nail bed and plate causing bumps and ridges. if you are having your nails done at a discount nail salon. you want to look into the product they are using. they could be using a product called methyl methacrylic or mma which is very damaging and can cause allergic reactions, pain and sensitivity, and in extreme cases can cause cancer

all the filling and tools they use are very hard on the nails, the tissue that surrounds the nail area is very sensitive, i think it happens to everyone, i know that's how my nails feel after i get them done
