Yes, witchcraft is real. I am a witch and that is what I practice.
I am really frustrated by those who think they know it all and equate Witchcraft to Wiccan. Not all witches are Wiccan. Witchcraft, in many forms, has been around for thousands of years. It did not start in the 1950's by Gerald Gardner or Allister Crowley. They just organized it for some. My mother was a witch before then as was my grandfather, and he died in 1940.
It is not like what you see on TV or in the Movies, we do not have supernatural powers, only the power to work with nature and read her signs and can manipulate nature more than and in different ways than the average person. And before you make rude comments about that, every human being on Earth manipulates nature. I mean when you get down to it growing a crop of vegetables is manipulating nature. And your little poodle did not come to be accidentally. Lets not forget your house, the wood was manipulated to make boards.
Anyway, I have been practicing for over 40 years and I can trace some form of witchcraft back to my great great grandfather, he was a Comanche Medicine Man.

'Witchcraft' is a derogatory term made up by the powers-that-be in the Middle Ages to denegrate the ancient culture of healing using herbs and other natural remedies.
The Church especially feared this, one reason being that it was mainly though not entirely practiced by women and was therefore seen to undermine the male-dominated medical profession. Women who practiced healing were known as 'Wiccan' (from an old Celtic word meaning 'wise woman') and this became corrupted into 'witch'.
The healing craft included many recipes for the various potions, etc. which were handed down by word of mouth. Also appeals i.e. incantations to the various nature Gods/Godesses for healing powers. Hence the myths about spells and conjuring up the Devil. The pre-Christian God Pan was often portrayed as having the body of a man and the legs of a goat, thus the image of the Devil as put about by the Church.
The fact that herbal potions could also be used as poison was used against the 'witches' but in reality this rarely if ever happened.
The legend of the 'familiar' came about because many such women lived alone and befriended and also practiced their healing powers on animals.
In short the Wiccan religion wasn't evil at all, just different from Christianity, and the persecution happened because of fear and ignorance.

Well, yes Witchcraft is real, it is a real religion, those who practise it are refered to as Wiccans...of course I am not refering to the media/ movie stero- type evil/ Satanist person... that many take as the true portrayal of a "Witch"....while there are exceptions most "Witches" are involved in a very earth based religion which involves the raising of energy to acomplish goals and communaction with deity(like prayer)....many also practice herbology and astrology, and are just regular Good people trying to do their part to make this a better place for all of us.
Blessed Be!

Of course witchcraft is real. It is much older than Judaism. Islam, or Christianity.
Magick has been practised for about 35,000 years.
I follow that religion of old Hawai'i, and it uses magick heavily, and has been practised for at least 14,000 years.

Yeah, it's real. Put aside all the different ceremonial magick stuff and it comes down to raising energy and directing it to a cause. Prayer is much like that. The more emotion and need you add to it, the more likely it is to be effective. It is the sentient will causing change to happen in the universe.

Nope.
Except for some hallucinogens, of course, but they have long fell into disuse and where just chemistry anyway.
So, in short, the practices and things are real. The effect is not there though, you can't really curse someone (or cure them).
