i don't think 82 games is too many, however i do agree that the players could use a little more rest. maybe the nba should put a few more days in between games and have the season start earlier, or end later.

The NBA should reduce the season to 70 games. The reason why the season needs to be 70 games is because the season is way to long and fans loose interest when games are meaning less games on TV. Shortening the season would make exciting and fans would enjoy it more, but everyone knows this is about making a dollar.

It is only too many games because the playoffs take such a long time. Plus, there's no rule saying a coach necessarily has to play all of his players every game. It is was interesting a month ago that Kobe Bryant was suspended for the game against the Knicks in New York- the stupid "Genobli elbow". Knick fans actually got upset because they claimed they bought the tickets for the Lakers game just to see Bryant. I think that type of short sightedness by NBA fans demanding to see certain players keeps coaches from giving players rest and leads to the dilema you discuss.

most injuries aren't brought on by wear and tear rather freak incidents but i do agree that the season is too short. they should add at least 2 weeks to regular season to give players more of a rest as fatigue sets in especially for the younger teams. they should make the season a month longer or cut it too a 72 game season.

Well, it may be a lot of games but being paid multi-millions a year and there are so many teams in the league, you have to play a 100 games to be fair for the public. But I do see a lot of injuries this year and it is pretty much unavoidable playing at this level. NBA is the best!

82 games is not too many.. sometimes i wished that the commissioner would lengthen the games... but i definitely agree... they should have rescheduled the game plan... should have started the season earlier... and ending the game a bit later... and they should have make more rest in between games schedule...

I think you make a great point. I agree with you. If we limited it to 60 or 70, It would be more exciting and injuries would be less prevalent. We could even include more teams in the playoffs and add an extra round maybe. Make it more like college basketball, but I think that main reason for so many games is the fact that the NBA earns revenue for each game so they in turn squeeze in a ton of em.
