People often find southern accents slow... slower than normal. The accent makes you sound kind of slow or retarded. I've noticed how funny it is when southern politicians debeat, they never win. Because you can never take them seriously. Take a look at the movie forest gump. They sound a bit like that.

Honestly, I don't judge people solely b/c I hear their Southern accent. I try to get to know the individual first....
BUT, I admit that I do tend to stereotype folks from the South. Compared to the other 50 states, Southern states have been known to be among the bottom when it comes to how well their students perform on standardized tests. The public schools are really struggling....when I hear the accent, that's what I think about: the education that the person received.

Do you mean "debate" or debeat? Bill Clinton never lost a debate and he is obviously southern. Englishmen find southern people to be understandable when speaking as opposed to other regions of the US. Many of the greatest thinkers, scientist, athletes, and entertainers of our modern era are southern and this stat is almost disproportionate. I hope I helped.

Southern accents sound dumb because many times those who talk with southern accents are dumb. I stay in Texas, so i know from adventure. fairly some the human beings that i know who've southern accents are fairly merely as dumb as they sound. someone on the on the spot loses credibility at the same time as they open their mouth and that ridiculous accessory comes out. they at the on the spot are not taken heavily from that factor on. you'll note that the varieties of adult males contained in the workplace who've that accessory will bypass up contained in the corporation no longer by their own earnings, yet by sucking as a lot as higher-ups; they could't bypass up all alone because they are in many situations idiots.

Hey i bet you didnt know that hollywood over does southern accents and my daddy he talks slow like me and he pretty much wins every debate he does. the accent is just the way we talk like we make fun of yankees down here cause they talk to fast. and havent you noticed that the president of the united states right now is from texas and he has an accent and he has probably won lots of debates.
