1st, don't waste your time with AVG, spybot, ad aware, spyhunter, or anything of the sort. Stay away from anything that is FREE. There is a reason why they free. They are NOT good.
2nd, You need some of the best software out there. Norton Systemworks is very good. That's the only good software from Norton. Don't get Internet security, its not that great. Now the best software you should get is Spysweeper with Anti-virus, this software is too good and gets better everyday. It blocks over 170,000 threats. No other software can compete with that or come close for that matter. I've used them all and it is 2nd to none.
3rd, after you install and update the software, since its in your system you will have to turn off system restore and then go into safe mode and run the scan and eliminate the virus. then after removal, reboot and turn system restore back on.
4th, any probs during or after you do all this, send me an e-mail.

SpyDawn is a rogue anti-spyware application that is installed on your computer without your permission using Trojans and other malware. These types of programs are typically installed when a user installs what they think is an audio or video codec, but in reality is a Trojan that downloads and installs SpyDawn. When run, SpyDawn pretends to be a anti-spyware application but instead provides exaggerated or fake results of Spyware found on your computer. In order to clean the found items you must purchase the full commercial version of the SpyDawn software. These false results are actually used as a scare tactic to have you purchase the SpyDawn. It goes without saying that you should not purchase this software.

SpyDawn (Spy Dawn) is a rogue program that is installed by a trojan called Zlob. Of course you need to remove SpyDawn, but more importantly, you need to ALSO remove the Zlob trojan that installed it. Zlob infects your computer and starts generating warning messages in hopes of scaring you into buying SpyDawn. Download SpyNoMore to scan your PC, it is very effective against the Zlob trojan and SpyDawn.
