James K has it right. Another way to describe it is what is the chance of hitting five tails in a row?

1/2 x 1/2 x 1/2 x 1/2 x 1/2 = 1/32

The chance of getting at least one head in five coint tosses is the same as NOT getting five tails in a row.

So 1 - 1/32 = 31/32, or a 96.875% chance of getting at least one head.

Possible outcomes are 2^5 or 32 outcomes

The only way to not be succesful is if all 5 coins are tails so the
P(at least one heads) = 31/32
