Tell me, Why are black people considered Minorities???

Haven't we proved ourselves equal to white people yet? Im mixed and it bother me to the highest extent that Black people are Minorities!! Also, THEY DONT EVEN SEEM TO MIND!!! Are they proud to minorities... Should WE be proud to be minorities? Accepting the fact that youre a minority is just another way to basically DISCREDIT yourself. It's putting another race in a better position that us... with more power. Now that i think about it, ARE WHITE PEOPLE CONSIDERED MAJORITIES?

Minority vs. Majority usually refers to their ability to bring about change. When the number of African Americans in governing positions equals or exceeds that of the caucasians, you will be considered a majority.

As it stands, I think there are more African Americans in the US that Caucasians, in terms of population.

It has more to with actual numbers the amount of black people in the states are less in comparison with white people thus the term minorities. But we are in no way inferior

White people are only considered a majority because there are more of them. A minority suggests that the number of black people are fewer then white people. In japan asian people are the majority because there are mostly asian people there.
It's about quantity, not quality.

The designation 'minority' is not appropriate.
The racial makeup of the USA is so diverse that our country
no longer has a primary race.
