Because if we didn't vote for people who lied to us there would be no one to vote for.

Think about this a sec... every time we have an election, all we hear is about there mistakes, there change of thoughts, there bad choices, there history's, there expressions contrary to other opinions, there party popularity [?] views...and...of course, the 'other' party's opinions..
now... because we dont want to expose OURSELVES to that sort of criticism or judge mentality, why even try forming an independent opinion,...why not just join the herd,..it's safer to be obscure and insignificant , than be an opinionated, banner waving , motivated , determined, outspoken , political voicing , ideologist..
I agree with you...the system is in need of some major overhauling. and a tune-up,..but,... when it's down to the wire, and we are in the booth, we are so polluted with each party's trash and garbage thrown into any / every equation that an unbiased vote is impossible.

Because they believe the lies ..like some of the Germans believed Hitler's lies when he promised people the world..he just neglected to tell everyone they wouldn't be in it ..
The most corrupt administration in our history is the Clinton administration..yet , the first First lady to be indicted was elected senator ..and with a football field full of illegal deals ; money laundering & illegal campaign funding , as well as assorted obstruction of justice ; etc; witness tampering ;blackmailing witnesses; abuse of power & jeopardizing national security against FBI warnings - when she called the shots in the White House- Hillary Rodham Clinton is now running for the highest office . It's the same reason the biased liberal media invents news & lies - somebody's buying that crap .

It depends on the definition of is. How about Pelosi saying we are going to sanction William Jefferson by taking him off Ways and Means and then appoint him to a committee where the Chaiman does not understand the contrast between Sunni and Shiite.
Yes it is the Intelligence Committee and Intelligence on that Committee does not exist for the current Majority. Except for Jane Harmon. She gets it.

I never voted for or trusted Bush. Just the fact that his
campaign was primarily based on basing Kerry turned me off.
I'll say this for Bush, I really hope he has wised up people to
his shady tatics.
I really don't care about the things candidates have to say
about each other, I want to know what they're plans are for
this war,the economy, health care, education & jobs.
I don't want to hear about their religion, abortion or the
gay community. The things I mentioned above should have
first priority.

Fear played a big part in the last election, that and a clever character assassination of one of the participants. People voted for Bush because he convinced them he was a war time president and it isn't good to change leaders in the middle of a war, duh, HE STARTED THE DAMN THING BASED ON THE LIES THAT HE TOLD. Why do they vote for a liar. It is about the only thing that he is good at doing.

Because we're comfortable. Comfort breeds complacency.
No-one wants to to get up and be a part of changing things, because its much easier to ignore reality and sit back watching the 24 hour bullsh*t, oh I'm sorry, I meant "news" channels and be lazy.

I don't think that politicians lie. Obviously some abuse their power, but many do what is best for the people. Think about what it would be like without them.
