should I ,over dinner, thank the person or just not mention it? Also is it a good sign that I may get the job given the fact that they are flying me there, providing first class hotel stay? They said they don't do this as a general rule.

Very few companies want to spend any money on possible employees. They are willing to spend money on potential employees that they are strongly considering. I would take this as a very good sign that the company wants to employ you.

Of course you have to thank the person who gave you the interview, but over lunch would me more professional. A dinner might lead to questions about where to go afterwords. You don't want to entangle your new job in a new relationship and I am sure that person who hired you doesn't either. However, if they do decide to take you out to dinner then make sure it is with a group, you want a change to talk with your new manager would be a good enough excuse.

I think that they want to fly you out, put you up into a hotel, and then take you are to dinner are all good signs that they want you. The final interview may be a formality, but you need to approach it as if it is a very important one.

Good luck in your new job.

This is generally a sign that they are having trouble finding a person with the right qualification in the area. This is to your advantage. It is always good to thank the person giving you the oportunity, just don't be too overly appreciative. Just, in passing, thank them for the opportunity and the accomidations.

Don't let their hospitality cloud your judgement and business sense. Make sure you get what you want or need. They are probably willing to bargain a bit when it comes to salary. Also work in the idea of moving assistance or re-embursment. If the are willing to accommodate you during the interview, they might also pay for your moving expenses in an attempt to sweeten the deal.

Good Luck.

I wouldn't personally thank them for paying for it. But thank them for the opportunity to seek employment with their company. And then, gracefully say it was nice meeting you and discussing the employment opportunity, I will think about it and get back to you within a certain amount of days, unless of course you know you want the job, then just take it if it's offered, give them an approximate starting date. Go home and pack! They sound as if they want you, sounds like the ball is in your court. Your turn to see if the job fits what you want. Lucky You! Good luck on the interview!

In terms of the Travel Expenses for Interview, thats a great sign that they are interested in you and like what they have seen so far. As during the Interview, if you are going to be interviewing with HR or your Potential Direct Manager, no need to cooridally thank them for giving you an opportunity to interview. They will understand what you are trying to communicate. As you are going to be flying in, dont take this as any interview, eyes will be focues on you, so this your time to shine and ensure that you are able to sell what you bring to the plate. Good Luck!!!!!

It is a very good sign and you may get a job. However, I think it is a general rules for potential employer to pay you for every expenses when you were in their city. I don't think you have to thank the person about the expense, but thanks for dinner (if they are the host) or thanks for his/her time.

it is a good sign. Let me ask you, if you did that for someone and then they didnt say boo baloney to you, what would you think?
You would think well what an ungrateful little self centered person she is.

Gracefully and not goveling say. I really do want to thank you for providing me the accomodations to come and meet with you. It has been very helpful for me, and of course i hope for you also.

Nuff said, say thank you, but be graceful.
they didnt buy you a pony. *yet*
