Liquefied Petroleum Gas is a predominant mixture of Propane and butane with small percentage of unsatuartes ( Propylene and Butylene) which is extracted from Natural Gas containing almost 95% of methane that is lighter than air and is turned into liquid by application of moderate pressure at normal temperature.
Butane being twice as heavy as air and propane about one and half times heavier than air, LPG is heavier than air but lighter than water.

lpg is a hydrocarcarbon gas. it is heavier than air and lighter than water because its moleculer weight like CO2 is heavier than air. lpg's molecular weight like kerosene is lighter than water. hence the LPG is heavier than air and lighter than water.

its heavier than air as it is liquefied ie. it is under constant pressure
[along with pressure density increases]
when it comes in contact with water it tends to dissolve in it as the pressure decreases .This reduces the density and LPG becomes lighter than water

It is becse the molecular weight is hevier and they are packed closer compared to air,and they r packed loose and thier weight is less compared to water
