Because Wars are actually good for the economy. They create a massive amount of jobs, which in turn, sends more money/taxes back into the economy. Education and Healthcare are drains on the economy. I don't really like this, but I hope it answers your question.

You have obviously not paid attention to the explosion in spending for education and health care over the last decade. Pay attention and be informed. As many are aware, money is not the answer for better schools. Catholic schools have always done a much better job, with much larger class sizes, greater achievement, and for half the price.

There isn't plenty of money for war, we are deficit spending, borrowing money from our kids and grand kids future, things like heath care and education is also being borrowed from in order to pay for it all. This is typical of supply side economics's which has never worked. Always results in a recession and sometimes in a full fledged depression, dragging other country's down as well.

Your question is deeply flawed.

The United States spends more for Medicade, Medicare and the Department of Education than they spend on the military.

In other words, there isn't more money for war. Only about 1/5th of the US budget is spent on defense. That is dwarfed by the 3/5ths spent on 'entitlements' like healthcare, education, retirement, etc...

With our current president or any republican for that matter, that will always be the case. As a republican, he believes in financing the military and giving the wealthiest of Americans tax-cuts which, in turn, leaves nothing for social programs, education, or healthcare. It is how the republicans want it. If Americans would vote in their best interest, known as the rational actor model, then we could actually get a democrat elected in 2008 and turn things around.

I don't think it's ever been a matter of money for either of them. It's been a matter of implementation.

As far as education goes, it's at the state level. The federal government has nothing to do with it. State taxes should fund education and not federal.

I don't get it myself. It's like Bush has blinders on. He's
borrowing money from other countries & spending it like
a drunken sailor.
Our country is falling behind in science, technology & our
future generation is falling behind in math. The consequences
of this neglect will be apparent in decades to come.
