There is a perfect answer for this, and it involves a recent event, because of the troops at Walter Reid veteran's hospital were treated so bad, their officers said they couldn't talk to anyone about what was really happening, but yet the Right wingers always say we fight in Iraq to protect our freedoms here (this is pure Bull$hit), but yet here we can't say what we want our we will be critisized as anti-american or against the troops in a way all to reminescent of the McCarthy era. We also have wiretapping on anyone who doesn't agree with that numbscull in the white house, now you may say that the freedom is real because I just dissed our president, but for all I know because my family is Democratic and we support Democratic candidates with money and other means of support, we could be under surveillence like the other groups of people that the government keeps a close watch on for some reason, like those harmless peace groups from Fahrenheit 9/11. In closing, our freedom is a sham to a degree with this stupid administration in office. (p.s. FBI, CIA, any of you other people reading this f*** off) im not paranoid this stuff is sadly real.

NO! I understand why you are asking the question though.

I do believe that our Gov. has lost the Idea of public service.
It does seem that in the last 30 or so years, public service has taken second place to a serve yourself buffet.

When I say Gov. I'm speaking of all parties.

Now, This is still the greatest place to live in the world.

But we have lost the whole Idea why we came here.

We went from religious freedom to "my religion is best and I'm gonna cram it down your throat!".

Or how about "all Men are created equal" but my skin color prevents me from saing the n-bomb while it's accepted by another skin color as no big deal.

It happened a long time ago. My family never owned slaves.
I constantly get reminded about how bad white skin is.

But it is my right to point that out and not put up with it.

And I don't.

Our Democracy provided that freedom.

You should read the Federalist Papers. It will give you insight on
the early thought behind this country.

No, your not truly free in the definition of the word.

But truly free places soon get either anarchy or dictatorship.

If your lucky you King will be kind.

All democracies are a tyranny! People don't need to control other people....we need freedom! People go out and vote for politicians that could careless about them! Let's be honest....without terrorists and global warming....GW and Gore would be on the streets. They certainly are great speakers...but when it comes to brains they are about a foot short of a full yard! Democracies sound great because they give more people say. In all reality the people spoke a long time ago. They fought and died for freedom....not big governments! But no, ignore the people....listen to 40% of them. That's all that votes anyways! What's funny is that 25% of these people are voting for the different freedoms preached by the republicans and democrats, not for their restrictions and big government, this is just a disgusting by product they get! It's a huge cycle. Government is smart, smart enough to screw the people!

WE DO NOT LIVE IN A TRULY DEMOCRATIC COUNTRY. WE LIVE IN DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC. A TRUE DEMOCRATIC COUNTRY WOULD HAVE THE CONSTITUTION SERVE THE PEOPLE NOT THE PEOPLE SERVE THE CONSTITUTION. ASK AL GORE IF WE ARE TRULY DEMOCRATIC. HE HAD THE MOST VOTES IN THE COUNTRY BUT WAS NOT ALLOWED TO BE PRESIDENT. NOT THAT I LIKE AL THE TREE HUGGER BUT IT'S A PRIME EXAMPLE.
