Right now they are considered "vulnerable" under the Endangered Species Act. They may be reclassified as endangered if their numbers keep dropping. Global warming is melting the ice floes that they live on during the summer months and they are drowning as a result as they have no where to go except the open ocean.

I think they have been taken under consideration for endangered status. The polar ice melt is a serious stress on their reproduction.

yes unlike the south pole(an ice mass on land) the north pole is ice floating on water when it has melted the polar bears are homeless in the water

yes.. some polar bears in the wild have resorted to cannibalism because their habitat is getting smaller and smaller
