Why do I hate ???

Question

I am Lebanese but Why do I hate syrians?

Webby good but don't you think that their people also hate us?

John - I did hear lots of stories about them and what they did to us and I saw myself too.

Mybe because of what we heard from outsiders. In the civil war in Lebanon they made the worst crime, rape and things against humanity. As they want Lebanon to be always unstable and they want to control our country and take our money and make us nothing. There are 1 million syrian who works here who have taken our job. As they come here and act as if it is their country.

You have the right to hate them. But only hate the ones they want to destroy our Lebanon, not the good ones.

its because they came into lebanon after the war between the druz and sunni and they just stayed but also every where you turn you find syrians and i dont like it i always told everyone i came to lebanon but it seems as if i am in syria but back to the question its also because of all the people they killed then they made the money people get paid decreasing because they used to work way cheaper so people hired them but dont worry its all lebanese that dont want lebanon to be ruined so they hate syria

I think I can understand your feelings. When someone's country have been under the domination of a country like Syria for almost 30 years, one cant be "racional" because all the things, institutions, places, even people, were violated for another people that didnt care about them. They only wanted the power and the land, to get again those that many years ago was called Great Syria.
I think the people from Syria......common people I mean.....dont share that feelings with their system.
They are not living so much well under the rule of Bashar al Assad, they cant talk.....they can vote for another president...their jails are full of the people that think different that the regime, and they are afraid.
So.........hate the guys what have the force...the dictator.but dont hate common people. they are as you and me. Think that fortunatelly Lebanon with a bit of external help, kicked Syria out, but syrian people still are suffering another al assad as a dictator.
Better than hate....feel sorrow for them !!!!

A common mistake, we are always confusing syrians with their regime.
If you decide to hate Syria (as a regime) you are not the only one. They occupied Lebanon, didn't treat us too well, are still holding some of ours as prisoners and by their own admittance "made mistakes in Lebanon".
But to blame it on the Syrians as the population is pretty unfair. these people are as oppressed by their government as we were and should not be held responsible for their government's politics.

reply 2: well roger, is your question why do you hate Syrians or why do Syrians hate you? I don't know many Syrians - I live in Australia- but the ones I know seem to like me ( of course I am a very likeable person).

you hate them becauze u think that they r the cause of the conflict in lebanon, and that they killed "el 7arery".. and sure u think so becauze of the media and the usa which is trying to make both countries hate each other or should i say make all the arab countries hate each other, becazue if this happens usa and israel can take our lands so easily...

so please -all- dont make this happens. we are all arabs (regardless muslims or christians), and at the end we all have a common way.
Palestine fall, iraq fall, lebanon & syria they want them to fall too and accordenly all arab countries
we dont want more conflicts, we wanna be reunite again as we were in the past

it's a cultural thing
you grow up in a culture torn with conflict due to religious and political tension.
inevitably, you will adopt it, or at least part of it.

Even if you don't hate Syrians, some Syrians might hate you because they think you hate them, and then you start to hate them because they hate you, and then your hatred confirms their doubts and so they hate you more, then their hatred makes you hate them more and so on.

It's a never ending cycle. It takes only one spark to light an inextinguishable forest fire.

Solution: education and stay away from political bull sh*t

I believe you hate Syrians but I don't believe you are Lebanese.

I hope Lebanese people visit the links below may be you can understand that Syria and Lebanon are in one boat. The one who is very jealous from Lebanon and wish to remove it from the map, is Israel. They are playing many games inside Lebanon. By the way I'm not Syrian.

Well since you asked I am obliged to answer so don't be offended - I don't even know you.

I used to be like that in the past, so again don't be offended by what I'm going to write.

You hate them because you have not matured on the psychological level. You still don't have the required confidence. When you gain confidence in yourself, you raise above these issues and realise that you should be rational rather than emotional.

Being instinctive is animalistic. But again humans are also emotional. Do you hate Syrians because you are emotional or do you hate them instinctively lol? Remember, for humans, instinct is the source for problems, however for animals it solves them.

You don't have to like Syrians to begin with. But you have to realise that they are only people like you and me. Remember, you are Lebanese by chance not by choice. You could have been one of them.

Maybe cuz our Lebanese culture is Different from them,
i mean even from their life style and thinking way!!!
