For hilly terrain go to Mount Seymour for higher altitude spectacular views. (sometimes the chairlift is open in summer for the initial steep climb) Try to pick a day with wind in the summer heat because of the smog, endless mills, smog from the U.S. and forest fires. Flat ground Burns Bog in east Richmond is nice. UBC trails. (beware of nude beach) Go down to the Iona discharge pipe 4.5 kms out into Georgia Strait walkway is on top of it, open to the public. (Right by the airport you go farther and farther out and look for Killer Whales etc. perfectly flat.) Its a great place to let the ol spirit soar in the ocean breeze. Tons of sea birds you dont see in town. Dont wimp out and make sure you walk right to the end to elevated observatoy. Lots of heavy ship traffic too. Washrooms at the end also.
