Funny. I guess you're choosing to ignore the hundred years or so it took for us Irishmen to build what most of you city slickers in the US now tear down for room for condos.
After the slaves were freed, who do you think was in demand. That's right boys and girls, the Irish. Cheep labour and unsafe conditions built you the Empire State Building and the rest of the continental United States.
