I think Beckham has strung a few good performances for Real Madrid recently. But his decision to go to the U.S. may have hampered his come-back to the England team
I don't think he will be picked now. I think Shaun Wright Phillips and Aaron Lennon are decent players to replace him. Give McLaren time...he's been bogged down by injuries

As a squad player only-because of his enthusiasm and pride of his country,he could help the younger ones coming through-He would have to be told not to be expected to play-I am sure whatever position you would give him, he would just relish the thought of being back in the England set-up

Yes, his crosses and dead-ball's are great (pardon the Euro 2004 penalty). England plays much better with him on the right as well. Guys like Wright-Phillips, J.Cole and Walcott could learn a lot from his experience and they could smooth out the rough edges in their games. PS.Think of all the merchandise that can be sold!!!!

No we just need to nurture new English talent, we need to let the English talent into clubs at a higher level, not just give the breaks to the foreign players.

Let's look at this question on current facts: he has not played a game for a while and he is getting ready to move the family to Hollywood to run their reality TV show.

No time for top tier football I reckon!

What do you reckon?

Yes because I still think he has something to offer. However, I wouldn't start with him, just use him as a bench player. Bring him on with 20-30 mins to go if we need his set pieces and crosses etc etc.
